The London Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Society

Welcome to our Web pages and to our 2018/9 Season of talks and activities.

                                                           

We are a society of active refrigeration engineers with "hands on experience" who have met for around 50 years socially during the cooler months for updates in products and legislation of associated products.


Our monthly Venue is in South London at GREENWICH TAVERN , 1 King William Walk , Greenwich, SE10 9JH

At each meeting come along early to socialise over a meal and drink, (currently parking charges finish at 5.30pm) where you can sign up or renew membership. Sign up for membership for only £15 per year by sending a cheque made out to LRS, to Ron Filer (Treasurer) c/o 91 Herongate Road, London, E12 5EH. See our "contact us" page.

We meet usually on the second Thursday in the months from September through to April from  7.30 till 10pm.

A Brief History

The LRS was formed in the 1960's following the demise of the "Refrigeration Serviceman's Association". Its aims are to help engineers keep abreast of the latest developments in air conditioning and refrigeration. As the gasses Carbon Dioxide, Methyl Chloride, Sulphur Dioxide and Ammonia fell from grace, the wonders of those great "non smelly" "non flammable" and "totally safe" R12 and R22 compounds came into common use and our membership grew.
